Someofthesmallerbirdsareverybeautiful,buttheyarenotremarkableforeithersweetness,orvarietyofnotes.Tooneofthem,notbiggerthanatomtit,wehavegiventhenameofcoach-whip,fromitsnoteexactlyresemblingthesmackofawhip.Thecountry,Iamofopinion,wouldaboundwithbirdsdidnotthenatives,byperpetuallysettingfiretothegrassandbushes,destroythegreaterpartofthenests;acausewhichalsocontributestorendersmallquadrupedsscarce.Theyarebesidesravenouslyfondofeggsandeatthemwherevertheyfindthem.Theycalltheroeofafishandabird\'seggbyonename. SomuchhasbeensaidoftheabundanceinwhichfisharefoundintheharboursofNewSouthWalesthatitlookslikedetractiontoopposeacontradiction. Someshareofknowledgemay,however,besupposedtobelongtoexperience.
