ThusthephenomenaassociatedwiththeriseofChristianityandthosewhichhaveappearedduringthepresentspiritualfermentareveryanalogous。Inexaminingthegiftsofthedisciples，asmentionedbyMatthewandMark，theonlyadditionalpointistheraisingofthedead。

NoBiblicalstudentseemstohavegivenasatisfactoryreason。Butanyonewhohasheardamediumgroaningbeforeanygreatmanifestationofpowerwillreadintothispassagejustthattouchofpracticalknowledge，whichwillconvincehimofitstruth。Themiracle，Imayadd，isnonethelesswonderfulorbeyondourhumanpowers，becauseitwaswroughtbyanextensionofnaturallaw，differingonlyindegreewiththatwhichwecanourselvestestandevendo。
